Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has launched the rebuilding of Bama Local Government Area, starting with a significant water project to address the scarcity of potable drinking water.
During a visit to the Shehu of Bama, Dr. Umar Kyari, on Thursday, Zulum outlined his plans to restore the area devastated by the Boko Haram insurgency. The announcement, confirmed by Abdulrahman Bundi, the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on new media, was made public on Friday.
Zulum reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to rebuilding communities affected by the insurgency and improving the lives of residents. He acknowledged the extensive destruction in Bama, one of the areas hardest hit by Boko Haram, and highlighted the progress made so far.
Bama is one of the communities worst hit by Boko Haram insurgency; the destructions were unimaginable. However, we have made significant progress in our rebuilding efforts, Zulum said.
The water project is part of a broader strategy to provide essential services and restore normalcy to communities recovering from years of conflict.
