Shettima Jauro Muhammad has officially taken office as the 29th Commissioner of Police for Nasarawa State. His appointment follows the promotion of AIG Shehu Umar Nadada to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police.
The announcement, made on Friday, came via a statement from the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel. According to the statement, CP Muhammad hails from Mubi North Local Government Area in Adamawa State and holds a Bachelor of Education in Physical and Health Education from the University of Maiduguri.
Muhammad, who joined the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), brings a wealth of experience to his new role. His career includes serving as Acting Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State, Deputy Commissioner of Police at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia, and Deputy Commissioner of Police for Operations in Zone 8, covering Lokoja and Gombe State.
In his first address as Commissioner, Muhammad urged the residents of Nasarawa State to work closely with the police by providing valuable intelligence that would aid in combating crime and ensuring the safety of the public. He emphasized the importance of community collaboration to foster a safer environment for all.
