Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has accused opposition politicians of exacerbating the state’s security issues for political gain. According to a statement by his spokesperson, Christian Aburime, the governor argued that while security concerns are valid, some politicians are using the situation to discredit his administration, creating unnecessary panic.
Soludo emphasized that security is a shared responsibility between the government and citizens. He called for a more collaborative approach to security, urging for regular intelligence sharing, constructive dialogue, and community involvement. The governor warned that politicizing security challenges could undermine efforts to improve safety in the state.
While acknowledging the existence of security threats, Soludo urged citizens to support government initiatives aimed at enhancing security, and he pledged ongoing support to law enforcement agencies. He assured that the government would continue to invest in resources and logistics to strengthen the state’s security architecture.
