The Lagos State Government has arrested 54 individuals during overnight enforcement operations in Lekki and Victoria Island. This is part of ongoing efforts to uphold public safety and ensure compliance with environmental and social regulations.
Tokunbo Wahab, Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, confirmed the arrests on Monday, stating that the raids took place in key locations including Emma Abimbola Cole Street, Admiralty Way, Chevron Drive, Ligali Ayorinde, and Alfred Rewane. The enforcement team was active throughout the night, patrolling hotspots across both areas.
Wahab emphasized that the operation aimed to maintain order, promote public safety, and enforce Lagos’ environmental and social standards. He also urged residents to contribute to building a safe and regulated environment in the city.
We are determined to create a city where everyone can thrive within a safe and regulated environment. Let’s all play our part in building the Lagos of our dreams, Wahab wrote on X.
