Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, celebrated his 62nd birthday by visiting the grave of his father, Alhaji Kabiru Yusuf, at Dandolo graveyard in Kano.
The governor, in a statement by his spokesperson Sunusi Bature Dawaki Tofa, expressed deep emotion during the visit, paying tribute to his father, a former regional parliament member and respected administrator known for his integrity and service.
Governor Yusuf reflected on his father’s legacy, saying, “My father’s life was a testament to leadership rooted in service, humility, and unwavering commitment to justice. His memory continues to guide me in all I do.” He also honored his mother, Malama Khadijatul-Naja’atu, a teacher and respected Islamic scholar, who taught him the importance of education, faith, and compassion.
Accompanied by family, aides, and close associates, the governor recited prayers for his parents, asking Allah (SWT) to grant them Jannatul Firdaus.
He described the visit as a reminder of his roots and the values that shape his life, reaffirming his commitment to serving the people of Kano with the same dedication his father had for his community.
