The Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Sports Development to President Bola Tinubu, Adeboye Adeyinka, has promised to make grassroots sports a major focus to bring back the golden days of Nigerian sports. With over 30 years of experience in sports administration, Adeboye is confident that his work will help young talents grow into world-class athletes.

    Why Grassroots Sports Matter

Adeboye explained that building sports from the grassroots is the key to future success for any nation.

“Grassroots sports will change Nigerian sports. Every country grows stronger when the young ones are supported and given the tools to succeed. They are the future champions,” he said.

Adeboye also praised President Tinubu’s support for sports and his vision of using sports as a tool to empower young Nigerians.

Tinubu’s Support for Sports and Youth Development

According to Adeboye, President Tinubu has made youth development a top priority and has shown strong commitment to improving Nigerian sports.

“President Tinubu is a leader who cares about youth development. He has given us the tools to make grassroots sports work and to take Nigerian sports to the next level,” Adeboye said.

He added that the president’s belief in his abilities gives him the confidence to push for big changes in grassroots sports.

“The president trusts me to deliver results and make a real difference in grassroots sports. I believe we can achieve great things for Nigeria,” he added.

    Working Together to Improve Sports

Adeboye recently met with Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission, and Honourable Bukola Olopade, Director General of the National Sports Commission, to discuss ways to improve Nigerian sports. The meeting with President Tinubu focused on how to grow young talent and improve sports across the country.

Together, they are working on a plan to help young Nigerians succeed in sports locally and internationally.

    A Promise for Better Sports

Adeboye, who is also the president of Smart City, said that grassroots sports will remain his main focus. He is determined to give young Nigerians opportunities to shine and bring back the pride of Nigerian sports.

“We are building something great under President Tinubu. Grassroots sports will help us find new champions and bring success back to Nigeria,” Adeboye concluded.
