The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has dismissed the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s claim that they can unseat Governor Biodun Oyebanji in the 2026 governorship election. APC Publicity Secretary Segun Dipe called the PDP’s ambition “a mission impossible,” highlighting the Governor’s remarkable performance and the PDP’s disunity. He asserted that the opposition party is too fractured to pose a significant challenge in the upcoming election.
Dipe’s remarks came in response to the PDP’s push for unity within the party, with a focus on rallying together to defeat Oyebanji. Hakeem Adebomojo, coordinator of the Ekiti State PDP Frontier Group, emphasized the need for a united front to confront the APC in 2026. Despite these efforts, Dipe remained confident in Oyebanji’s administration, pointing to the Governor’s achievements, including the completion of a cargo airport and infrastructure development in the state.
