The Arewa Youth Leaders and Professionals Forum (AYLPF) has condemned Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed for criticizing the economic policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing him of undermining the unity and progress of northern Nigeria.
In a press briefing in Abuja, AYLPF National President Abdulahi Bilal Mohammed labeled Governor Mohammed’s actions as self-serving, stating that his opposition was not motivated by genuine concerns for the country’s development but rather by personal interests.
“Governor Bala Mohammed’s stance is not driven by a genuine desire to improve Nigeria but by a desire to undermine the national unity and the trust placed in him by both the people of Bauchi State and the entire country,” Bilal Mohammed said.
The Forum also expressed disapproval of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, who was accused of being politically irrelevant and disconnected from the real aspirations of Nigerians. Bilal Mohammed criticized El-Rufai for allegedly collaborating with promoters of a “third force,” suggesting his actions were aimed at creating division within northern Nigeria and undermining the interests of the region.
“El-Rufai’s recent remarks and his actions have proven he is out of touch with the realities of the Nigerian people,” Bilal Mohammed asserted. “His involvement with third-force advocates reflects a self-serving agenda that seeks to exploit the region for personal gain.”
He called for Nigerians to reject leaders who promote division and urged support for President Tinubu’s administration and its economic reforms, which are designed to drive national growth and prosperity.
“We must silence the voices of division and selfishness. Nigerians must unite and support the progressive policies of President Tinubu,” Bilal Mohammed concluded.
