The Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) has appointed Ayo Adeonipekun as its new Registrar and Chief Executive. Adeonipekun brings over 25 years of experience in leadership, finance, and performance management.
He succeeds Dr. Josiah Akerewusi, who retired after serving for a decade.
Before this appointment, Adeonipekun was the pioneer Managing Director/CEO of Reliance Capital Limited, a licensed fund/portfolio manager with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). He is an alumnus of Lagos Business School and holds degrees in Accounting and Finance from Olabisi Onabanjo University. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Finance at the same university.
Adeonipekun is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, a Chartered Accountant, a Certified Microfinance Banker, and a Registered Capital Market Operator with SEC. He also holds a trading license with the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).
Oluropo Dada, the 13th President and Chairman of Council of CIS, expressed confidence in Adeonipekun’s leadership, stating that his qualities would transform the Institute into a world-class certification entity.
Adeonipekun has held top management positions at organizations including Marina International Bank (now Access Bank), Sterling Bank, and First City Monument Bank Plc, among others.
