LP Stakeholders Denounce APC’s Attack on Obi, Call It a Rehearsal for 2027 Election

The Alliance for all Labour Party Stakeholders and Professionals has condemned the recent attack on Mr. Peter Obi, calling it an attempt to intimidate him out of contesting the 2027 presidential election. In a statement released on Wednesday, Dr. Blessing Elaigwu, the convener, emphasized that the attack was part of a broader effort to silence political opposition.

Elaigwu also criticized the national spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, for refusing to apologize for the attack on Obi, despite being given several opportunities on a television program. The coalition expressed dismay at Morka’s refusal to address the issue and his subsequent threats to list 400 Nigerians to security agencies, calling it a tactic to instill fear and suppress dissent.

The stakeholders pointed out the growing poverty and inequality in Nigeria, which they attributed to the APC-led government. They also noted that Nigerians, who are increasingly dissatisfied with the ruling party’s policies, are gearing up for the 2027 elections. The coalition pledged that Nigerians would continue to speak out against bad governance and warned that the APC would face resistance in the upcoming elections.
