The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) support group in the Northwest has condemned the alleged attempted assassination of Senator Lawal Adamu Usman (Mr LA), representing Kaduna Central. The group described the incident as an attack on democracy.
PDP spokesperson Engr. Sanusi Sarki called the act a “political permutation taken too far” and urged security agencies, especially the Police and Department of State Security (DSS), to investigate and identify the perpetrators.
The group emphasized Senator Usman’s importance to Kaduna, citing his significant contributions to the region. They called for swift action to ensure those responsible are held accountable.
Sarki also advised political leaders to prioritize security while performing their duties. The PDP group has urged Acting National Chairman Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum to launch an immediate investigation into the incident.
Kaduna State Police Command’s spokesman, ASP Mansir Hassan, has called on the senator to provide details for further investigation.
