Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has sent a clear and direct message to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) regarding its chances in the 2027 presidential elections. Ayodele, known for his bold prophecies, has urged the PDP to convince former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Senate President Bukola Saraki to run for president. According to Ayodele, these two figures are the key to the PDP’s success in the upcoming race.
In his statement, Ayodele expressed serious concerns over the party’s future, asserting that if Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s former presidential candidate, is allowed to contest again in 2027, it will lead to the party’s downfall. Ayodele believes that Atiku has already failed to deliver and that his return would mean the “final burial” of the PDP.
In contrast, Ayodele firmly believes that Jonathan is the best choice for the PDP if it wants to have any chance at victory. He noted that while Jonathan has hesitated in the past, now may be the time for him to return and lead the party. Furthermore, Ayodele suggested that if Jonathan could form a strategic alliance with Saraki, supported by a coalition of opposition parties, it could make the PDP a formidable contender in the presidential race.
Ayodele’s words were pointed and urgent: “If PDP wants to near victory, they should persuade Goodluck Jonathan to contest under the party to wake them from their slumber. Atiku will not be an answer to PDP, and if he comes out to contest again, it will be the final burial of PDP.”
The Primate also acknowledged the fears that Jonathan has regarding the political landscape and the challenges he would face. However, he believes that the PDP has to provide the necessary support and encouragement to Jonathan in order to push him to contest.
“Jonathan is scared, and the fear of the unknown is troubling him. If the PDP can persuade him and give him all the backing he needs, he will be able to help the party survive,” Ayodele added.
Ayodele further warned that without Jonathan’s participation and a coalition of opposition forces, President Bola Tinubu would remain in power after the 2027 elections. He described the individual who could potentially challenge and defeat Tinubu as someone who is “desperate, financially stable, unrighteous, fearless, and rugged.”
According to Ayodele, the 2027 election is not for the faint-hearted or those lacking determination. It will require a candidate who is willing to face any challenge, including those who may be willing to go to extreme lengths to win, and someone who is both politically shrewd and financially capable of competing at the highest level.
“The 2027 election isn’t for righteous people,” Ayodele stated. “The person who wants to win must be ready to face anything and must be ready to listen to God’s divine instructions at all times.”
In this light, Primate Ayodele’s advice suggests that the 2027 presidential race will be an intense battle that requires strategic alliances, political endurance, and a willingness to confront the harsh realities of Nigeria’s complex political terrain.
With all eyes on the PDP and potential candidates like Jonathan and Saraki, the coming months will be crucial in determining the direction of the party and its ability to mount a credible challenge to Tinubu’s administration.
