Charles Odii, the Director General of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), has donated 500 bags of rice to the constituents of 11 wards in Aniocha South Local Government Area (LGA), Delta State, as part of the Christmas festivities. The gesture, which aligns with the Renewed Hope mantra of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, seeks to spread goodwill and reinforce the spirit of unity during the festive season.
Odii, an influential member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), distributed 27 units of 25kg bags of rice and 300 units of 10kg bags, ensuring that each of the 11 wards received a fair share of the donation. He also presented 200 additional bags randomly to constituents, bringing the total to 500 bags.
In his speech, Odii urged constituents to remain hopeful, emphasizing that the Renewed Hope agenda of President Tinubu is gradually taking shape and moving the country in a positive direction. These policies are what we need at this time as a nation to grow, Odii said, adding that Nigerians should support President Tinubu’s efforts to combat corruption and build a better future.
He pointed out that the challenges the nation faces are a result of corruption fighting back, not poorly conceived policies. His comments come as part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen support for the president’s agenda, despite the difficulties the country is experiencing.
APC Chairman for Aniocha South LGA, Norbert Akachukwu Sochukwudima, praised Odii for his initiative, calling it a clear sign of the promise of more positive contributions in the future. This is a clear sign of many more things to come; hope is alive, just like the agenda of our dear President, Sochukwudima said. He also expressed gratitude for the well-organized and evenly distributed rice donations, which left many constituents happy and hopeful for more support.
Austin Utulu, the APC Youth Leader for Aniocha South, remarked that such gestures were unprecedented in the area and would bring joy to the people. At least this time, the people will smile because something like this has never happened before, Utulu said.
